Prof. Caryn L. Beck-Dudley

Caryn Beck-Dudley became AACSB’s new president and CEO in June 2020. She most recently served as the seventh dean of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, a position she assumed on August 1, 2015. A well-established scholar in employment law and the design of ethical organizations, she previously served as dean of the College of Business at Florida State University and the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.

At Florida State University, where she held the post of dean for nine years, she developed a compelling strategic plan for the business college, expanded its entrepreneurship, began an analytics program, established novel programs for veterans, and led an ambitious fundraising campaign for a new building.

Prior to serving at Florida State University, Beck-Dudley held roles as dean, department head, and professor of management and human resources in the College of Business at Utah State University. She also taught at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Before her academic career, she was an attorney in commercial and corporate law with Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy.

Beck-Dudley served two previous terms on the AACSB Board of Directors, and served as the FY2018-19 Board Chair. She has served on numerous committees of the corporation, and previously chaired the Maintenance of Accreditation Committee where she reviewed hundreds of business schools at a variety of universities worldwide.

As an active member of the Tallahassee business community, Beck-Dudley served on the Leon County Economic Development Council, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and the Knight Creative Communities Institute.

She currently interacts frequently with Silicon Valley companies and works with those leaders in reimagining how higher education can serve the workforce needs of the future.
